Your accounts at MECU are insured for up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government. It is the strongest deposit fund protecting consumers today.

Additional share insurance up to $250,000 is also provided by MECU through Excess Share Insurance. This allows your money to be insured for up to a total of $350,000.

ME/CU Share Savings Account:
A deposit of $5 secures your membership in MECU. Competitive dividend rates are compounded and paid quarterly based on the average daily balance.

Good Cents Accounts:
This savings club is reserved for our members from infant to age 12. With a $5 bill, you can start helping your child or grandchild begin saving for their future. Many of our members choose to have a small amount payroll deducted or automatically transferred into an account each pay period for their special someone.

IRA Share Accounts:
A $25 initial deposit is required. Dividends are paid quarterly.

IRA Share Certificates
Six, twelve, twenty-four and thirty-six month terms are available. $1,000 minimum balance is required. Dividends may be paid monthly or quarterly.

Jumbo IRA or Share Certificate
Six, twelve, twenty-four and thirty-six and sixty month terms are available. $75,000 minimum balance is required. Dividends may be paid monthly or quarterly. Gain as much as .25% when you take advantage of our Jumbo IRA.
